Basic Principles of Neuro Psychotherapy
Research shows that when we exercise we are more productive
and more energetic
NP works on the same principle as physical exercise. Physical
exercise is good for us in many ways:
- It improves our mood with raised endorphin levels
- It gives us a more balanced outlook on life, a more rational
and level headed approach Research shows that when we exercise
we are more productive and more energetic.
All sensory exrcises have exactly the same effect:
whether you work with the sense of touch as in massage,or
with hearing as in sound therapy or with vision as in vision
training, or you do movement exercises like running or yoga
to work on muscle tone, the results are always consistent-
less stress, more efficiency in coping.
The question is, how does it work?
Physical exercise like running for example, stimulates your
sense of balance and gravity, your vision, hearing, muscle
tone and sense of touch. All of this gives your nervous system
a lot of stimulation and this intensive input has a balancing
effect. We know that if a person is totally deprived of sensory
input they fall apart, the personality disintegrates.
Physical exercise and other forms of sensory stimulation
or sensory exercises have the opposite effect.
These exercises organise the personality
NP uses this principle-stimulation of vision, hearing, movement, balance
and touch to balance the nervous system and organise the personality.
When you are well organised, you have a good
mood
When your nervous system is well organised, you have a positive
outlook, your emotions are balanced and under control, you
are more rational, more productive, when faced with problems
you want to solve them. Basically you are functioning at a
higher level and you are thriving.
