THERAPY Play serves many functions, including learning
how to use the body and senses; how to make friends and deal
with power, competition and cooperation in relationships;
finding out about the properties of the physical environment;
practicing new skills; being creative; preparing for gender

BEHAVIOUR THERAPY Used for:
Promoting socially acceptable behaviour, good habits, teaching
self control and independence. Effective for bedwetting, tantrums,
study habits, doing household or self care chores, uncooperative
behaviour, poor response to discipline Parents learn the correct
use of behaviour therapy methods like positive communication
and reward systems
Duration: 1 session
PARENTING SKILLS TRAINING Used
for: Based on The Parent Effectiveness Program, a structured
program for parents to learn how to manage difficult behaviour
in children and adolescents through correct communication.
Duration: 1 to 3 sessions
FAMILY COUNSELLING Used for:
When parents want to work together to achieve a goal, such
as managing a problem child.
Duration: 1 to 3 sessions
EDUCATIONAL KINESIOLOGY Used
for: This is a structured sensory integration program ( vision,
hearing, balance, movement and tactile) for improving learning
ability and can assist primary and high school pupils with
mastering basic skills like reading, writing, arithmetic,
comprehension, attention and communication. Also used to overcome

SENSORY TRAINING THERAPIES

Used for: Children and adults with auditory processing
disorder, ie. in spite of good hearing, problems with interpretation,
discrimination, attention to, comprehension and recall of

VISION TRAINING

Used for: Visual perceptual problems, ie. in spite of
good sight, difficulty with comprehension, interpretation,
reproduction, discrimination and recall of visual information.
( eg. puzzles, maps, shapes)
Duration: 6 to 20 visits
approximately 30 to 45 minutes each
Testing: Done by the behavioral
optometrist prior to treatment for 20/20 vision and for
visual perceptual skills which include the interpretation,
comprehension, memory of visual task
